Class Teachers will set homework tasks weekly, based on the work that has been happening in class. Please check your child’s Class Dojo Page for further information.
Reading:
There is a expectation that children will read at home regularly.
Children in Early Years and Key Stage One will have a book given to them from their Read Write Inc tutor. These books need to be brought into school daily as books are changed on different days each week and staff may want to read with children outside of their Read Write Inc lesson.
Children who have completed Read Write Inc will be given a book matched to their reading ability. Children in Key Stage One will record this in a reading record and children in Key Stage Two will record this in a reading journal.
Children who have completed Read Write Inc will also have access to Reading Plus, it is part of the homework expectation that your child accesses reading plus at home at least twice during the week.
School also has access to a variety of online sites to support with learning such as TT Rockstars and Purple Mash. Please speak to your child’s class teacher for log in details.
If your child needs support with their homework, Mrs Bradshaw runs a Homework Club on a Wednesday Lunchtime.
